ADB is supporting governments in Asia and the Pacific to work more efficiently and equitably to achieve their development goals. This includes strengthening government institutions and helping improve the quality and delivery of services to the public. ADB’s governance work focuses on a number of areas, including public expenditure, economic affairs, and public administration.

Reducing systemic corruption is another priority for the bank, including strengthening key government institutions that advance transparency and accountability. ADB also assists in reforming state-owned enterprises, government decentralization, legal reform, and social protection.

    ADB works to improve revenue collection, strengthen tax administration, and build the capacity of tax officials in DMCs. This is achieved through technical assistance, training, and knowledge products.
