Dr Mitsunori Yoshimura is currently the infrastructure specialist of the Digital Technology Development Unit in the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Mitsunori has over 35 years of professional experience including 3 years in ADB. He is the secondee from Center for Spatial Information Science, the University of Tokyo and joined ADB in April 2019. Before joining ADB, he served as the project associate professor of Center for Spatial Information Science, the University of Tokyo and a Senior Research Scientist of PASCO Research Institute, PASCO corporation. He has extensively contributed in the areas of spatial information science, remote sensing and forest ecosystem.

Mitsunori holds a Doctorate in Engineering from the university of Tokyo had been a collaborative researcher at the research Institute of Humanity and Nature during the period 2007-2012. He is the Chairman of ISPRS(International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing) WG III/10(Agriculture and Natural Ecosystem Monitoring and Modelling) in 2016/22 and is also a member of the Board of Directors on the Japan Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing.

He is a Chartered Electrical Engineer, a managing director of the Japan Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (JSPRS).
