Masatake (Masa) Yamamichi is a Digital Technology Specialist at the Digital Technology for Development Unit, the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department (SDCC) of ADB. He is responsible for cybersecurity and privacy agendas. With the broad expertise and operational experience, he also provides assistance to other digital-related agendas.
Masa possesses strong capacity in many Digital Technology for Development areas, including telecommunications, digital government, data related infrastructure such as cloud, applications, and digital economy. In addition, he has broad expertise, ranging from legislation, policies, regulations, national strategies, institutional arrangements, PPP, technological standards, to ground-level implementation. Before joining ADB, Masa had worked for Digital Development Global Practice of the World Bank for more than a decade. Masa is a Japanese national. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Tokyo and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University.
