Operational Priority 1: Addressing Remaining Poverty and Reducing Inequalities

Institutional Document | September 2019

Strategy 2030’s first operational priority is to address remaining poverty and reduce inequalities.

This operational priority is comprised of three interconnected focus areas: (i) to enhance human capital and social protection for all, (ii) to generate quality jobs, and (iii) to reduce inequality in opportunities. Enhancing human capital is largely the focus of sectors such as education, health, and social protection, but all sectors and themes can contribute to this objective. Achieving the objectives of generating quality jobs and reducing inequality in opportunities requires significant contributions and engagement from all sector and thematic areas.
