This document summarizes the analytical study on Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Gender Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC). This is a desk review of how SOGIESC issues are addressed in ADB’s Safeguard Policy Statement 2009 and other ADB non-safeguard policies and strategies, and benchmarks against the safeguard frameworks of selected MFIs. External stakeholders are encouraged to use the information provided here to comment and provide meaningful recommendations to make the updated Safeguard Policy Statement substantive and implementable.
