REGISTRATION: T7 Japan 2023 Inception Conference

Tokyo, Japan Registration is open for the virtual Think7 (T7) Japan 2023 Inception Conference on 12 December 2022. It will discuss the policy advisory roadmap of the Group of 7’s (G7) think tank engagement group, T7, chaired by the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) as part of Japan’s 2023 G7 presidency.

T7 Japan Lead-Chair and ADBI Dean Tetsushi Sonobe and experts will detail the T7’s open and inclusive approach to producing impactful research-based policy solutions for the G7 and partners in the face of high uncertainty, under the T7 Japan theme Addressing Crises, Reigniting Sustainable Development, Bridging the G7 and G20.

Participants will describe how policy proposals from researchers from both G7 and non-G7 countries and greater emphasis on challenges affecting the Global South could foster policy breakthroughs after COVID-19, taking into account the importance of developing economies for global recovery and sustainable development prospects.

The conference will introduce the co-chairs of the four T7 Japan task forces, who will explain their respective policy focuses:

The event will also include a dialogue between Dean Sonobe and think tank leaders from Think20 (T20) India 2023 that will explore T7-T20 linkages to optimize global policy innovation.

The discussion will be followed by an audience question and answer session.

Simultaneous Japanese interpretation will be provided.
