The concept of smart cities is often seen as the glittering solution to many of the world’s urban development challenges. But ‘smartness’ is not solely about the technology or efficiency of systems. In today’s quest for livable and healthy cities, smart is about putting people first.

Established in 1966, it is owned by 68 members—49 from the region.
