This report presents highlights from the sub-regional conference held in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, on 11-12 April, 2016. 103 energy and social development practitioners and experts attended the event.

The annual ADB-Asian Think Tank Development Forum provides a venue to promote knowledge sharing and capacity building. Topics discussed during the 2015 forum include global value chains, regional cooperation, and the middle-income trap.

Providing income support and social services to Asia's aging population is an emerging challenge discussed during a conference organized by ADB and the Pacific Pension & Investment Institute on 4-5 September 2015.

On 13-14 September 2015, ICRIER with support of International Monetary Fund (IMF), The World Bank, Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) organised the 7th Annual International G20 Conference in New Delhi. The conference reflected on the Turkey G20 priorities of “Inclusiveness, Implementation, and Investment” that are at the heart of the current global challenges and these were the focus of attention at the conference.

Fragility assessments are viewed as an added burden to project design and implementation, however, if done properly and results are used appropriately, they can help shape the development practice and enhance the impact to the beneficiaries.

Good environmental safeguard practices from thirty-two case studies documenting environmental management of ADB funded projects in Central and West Asia were shared with executing and implementing agencies during two workshops in 2015.

Harmonizing safeguard systems across countries and development partners is a task that demands time and continuity. Developing countries in Asia have made significant advances in the scope and depth of their safeguard systems.
