Making an impact: Working at ADB
Meet Jukka Tulivuori
Social Sector Specialist from Finland
What is your role at ADB?
At the Asian Development Bank, I'm working in the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department in its education sector. My main responsibilities include the development of K12 education in ADB's developing member countries as well as supporting our regional departments in their education projects and also producing knowledge in education.
What is your background?
Actually, originally I'm a teacher so I have studied in Finland. I have two Master's: One in education, primary teaching, and the other one in geography and biology. I used to be an upper secondary school teacher in those subjects.
What skills do you need to thrive at ADB?
To be able to work with the Asian Development Bank, you have to have a versatile experience from the sector that you are interested in, as well as to be able to work in a multicultural environment.
What do you like most about working at ADB?
When working at the Asian Development Bank, I enjoy the most its multicultural aspect. You meet a lot of people from different countries and cultures. And then of course, we are able to support our developing member countries when they are making their education systems better.
