India: Farmer Group Market Access Development using Agricultural Technologies in Andhra Pradesh
The project targets at least 10 registered horticulture FPOs that have potential for business growth but suffer from lack of active participation of FPO members and marginal farmers, and need capacity building and financial supports to strengthen their businesses. These FPOs have potentials to mobilize approximately 8,000 farmers as their members. The state is promoting production of high-value crops such as watermelon, mango, papaya, tomato and banana in these districts. In this pilot, the project will support two horticulture commodities, which will be selected during project preparation.
