ADB supports projects in developing member countries that create economic and development impact, delivered through both public and private sector operations, advisory services, and knowledge support.
As Director, Energy Division, Pacific Department, Mr. Mukhtor Khamudkhanov coordinates ADB’s energy sector operations in the Pacific developing member countries. He helps supervise the implementation of ADB’s energy policy in the Pacific covering power systems, renewable energy, and energy efficiency.
During his 20 years in the Bank, Mr. Khamudkhanov prepared and administered several complex investment (including hydropower, wind and solar) and technical assistance projects. He held several positions: Country Director, Nepal Resident Mission; Principal Energy Specialist and Senior Energy Specialist in the Energy Division, South Asia Department; Senior Planning and Policy Specialist, Strategy and Policy Department, and Portfolio Management Specialist, former Central Operations Services Office.
Mr. Khamudkhanov holds a doctoral degree in technology (electrical engineering) from the State Technical University, Uzbekistan; a masters in financial management from the University of London, United Kingdom; and a master’s in international affairs (economic policy management) from Columbia University, USA.
