How does ADB safeguard the integrity of its activities?

ADB imposes sanctions and other remedial actions on parties that have engaged in integrity violations.

The Office of Anticorruption and Integrity (OAI) helps ensure that finite development funds entrusted to ADB are not misused.OAI is the focal point for allegations of integrity violations pertaining to ADB-related activities or staff. OAI’s responsbilities include:

  • reviewing complaints and conducting independent investigations of allegations of integrity violations
  • evaluating the integrity due diligence conducted in private sector projects
  • conducting project procurement-related reviews on ongoing projects to identify and address integrity risks
  • advancing awareness of ADB’s anticorruption policy through outreach and capacity development activities
