Dinesh Arora is a passionate health expert with over 20 years of experience in leading transformational public sector projects in South Asia and Middle East and North Africa regions. As a physician, public health practitioner and administrator, he has vast experience of designing and implementing health sector interventions across all levels of governance. Dinesh was credited with revamping health services in Kerala during his tenure as Mission Director (Health) of the State for more than 5 years.

Dinesh was also the Former Director (Health), Niti Aayog where he was responsible for health policy development and leading flagship initiatives in aspirational districts. As the Founder Deputy CEO of the National Health Authority, he spearheaded the world’s largest publicly funded health insurance scheme – Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana and laid the foundation of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission.

Dinesh is a Chevening scholar and has a master's degree in economics. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies in health policy from Johns Hopkins University (JHU) as a Dean Scholar after having completed a Master’s in Public Health from JHU as a Sommer scholar in 2020.
