ADB Translation Guidelines (2019)

The Translation Guidelines (2019) identify the documents and information that are required to be translated. It also sets out the criteria for which other types of materials may be considered for translation, and the standard translation process.

The guidelines reiterates these guiding principles for translation at ADB:

  • English is the ADB working language
  • Commitment to communication
  • Translation for developing member countries
  • Strategic, pragmatic, and flexible approach
  • Involvement of borrower or client in translations
  • Appropriate format and dissemination
  • High-quality translations
